Apple & Google Wallet Digital Business Cards
Keep your business card in the wallet app you already use. Same QR code, same live profile, one swipe from the lock screen.
Your business card, where your boarding passes live
The wallet app is already the place people look for the thing they need to show someone.
Everyone has learned the same habit over the last decade: when you need to show something to another person — a boarding pass, a coffee loyalty card, an event ticket — you open your wallet app. It is one of the few places on a phone you can reach without unlocking it properly and without hunting through a home screen.
A wallet business card uses that habit. Your digital business card is added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet as a pass showing your name, job title and contact details, with a QR code on the front. When you meet someone, you swipe to it and they scan. No app to open, no searching for a link, no "let me just find your number".
The QR code on the pass is the same one described on our QR code business card page: it opens your live profile, so whoever scans it always sees your current details and can save you to their contacts in one tap.
How the passes work
Apple Wallet. From your card, tap "Add to Apple Wallet" on an iPhone. The pass is generated and signed for your profile, carrying your name, job title, phone and email on the front, your profile address on the back, and the QR code for scanning.
Google Wallet. Tap "Add to Google Wallet" on Android. The pass carries the same information and QR code, with your photo as the hero image and your company logo when you are on a team account.
Both passes take their design from your card: your brand colours and logo, or your company's if an administrator has set them for the whole team.
One honest detail worth knowing. The QR code on the pass always opens your current profile, so a scan is never out of date. The text printed on the face of the pass is captured when the pass is added, so after a significant change — a new job title or a new phone number — re-add the pass from your card to refresh what it displays. It takes a couple of taps, and anyone who scans the old one still reaches the right place.
Wallet pass, QR code or plain link?
These are three ways to hand over the same card, and most people end up using all of them in different situations.
- Wallet pass — best in person, especially somewhere busy. Fastest to reach and it looks deliberate rather than improvised.
- QR code — best when the code can live on something physical: a printed card, a stand, a vehicle, a slide.
- Plain link — best in writing. Your profile address works in an email signature, a message, a proposal or a social bio.
Link Centre does all three from one profile, so there is nothing to keep in sync. It does not sell NFC cards or tags; the wallet pass and QR code cover the same ground without extra hardware to buy or replace.
Managing passes for a whole team is covered on digital business cards for teams, and everything is included in the standard plan on the pricing page.
